3 Recovery Modes to Quickly Recover Deleted or Lost Files on Windows


         Mode 1: To restore files from a backup

         Mode 2: To restore a deleted file or folder ( withour backup )

         Mode 3: To easily and quickly restore with Windows Data Recovery

 

Mode 1: To restore files from a backu


Step 1: Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

Step 2: Click Restore my files, and then follow the steps in the wizard.

Mode 2: To restore a deleted file or folder ( withour backup )


Step 1: Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.

Step 2: Navigate to the folder that used to contain the file or folder, right-click it, and then click Restore previous versions. If the folder was at the top level of a drive, for example C:\, right-click the drive, and then click Restore previous versions.You'll see a list of available previous versions of the file or folder. The list will include files saved on a backup (if you are using Windows Backup to back up your files) as well as restore points, if both types are available.

Step 3: Double-click a previous version of the folder that contains the file or folder you want to restore. (For example, if a file was deleted today, choose a version of the folder from yesterday, which should contain the file.)

Step 4: Drag the file or folder that you want to restore to another location, such as your desktop or another folder.The version of the file or folder is saved to the location that you selected.

Note: If the Restore button is unavailable, you can't restore a previous version of the file or folder to its original location. You might be able to open it or save it to a different location.The file or folder replaces the current version on your computer, and the replacement can't be undone.

Step 1: Select a recovery mode

Step 2: Choose the recover

Before recover your lost files, you need to answer 2 simple questions, one of the questions will be asked here is what type of files do you want to recover. Here there are 6 types you can choose, select one and click "Next" to be continues. If all of them are what you want, you can choose "All File Types" to recover all. Here we take "
All File Types" as an example.



Step 3: Choose the path of the lost files

After the first one, you need to answer one more question: Where did you lose your files? Here there are 5 options provides by the program you can choose, you can recover your lost data files from external removable devices, the Recycle Bin, the specified location of your PC or Desktop and My Documents. If you can't remember or find the partitions, please don't worry, you can also choose the last two options as the picture below. if done, click "Next".



Step 4: Enable the scanning mode

If you have no problem for the two questions above, you can click the "Start" button to search and scan your lost files. You can click "Back" to reselect if you want to modify them. By the way, you can see two options displayed in front of you: Enable Deep Scan or Enable Raw File Recovery.

"Enable Deep Scan" enables you to recover files lost due to formatting, you can retrieve all files that you lost long time ago for various reasons with help of "Enable Raw File Recovery". So, if you only want to recover the recently deleted files, just ignore them.



Step 5: Preview and selectively recover

After a while, all the data files found by the program will list on the scanning result in front of you. You can check out of them one by one and click the "Recover" button on the bottom to save what you want on you computer.



Besides, you can
switching "File type" to "Path" to check the previous path of those files.



Attention: Keep in mind that don't save your files back to the same location where your data lost from. Beacause they will be overwritten by your new saving file i
f you do not recover the files what you are looking for.

Advanced Restore

At the same time, you can check files during the recovery process. The program allows you to  "Pause" to recover the files you want first if they have ben scanned out. Then "Continue" or "Stop" your scan.

Filter: You can
search the filename or path to filter your lost files in the scanning result.

Save the scanning result: You are allowed to save the current scanning results for the later time recovery when stopping the scanning.

Part.2: Recover Data in Standard Mode


Step 1: Recover on Standard Mode


After launching the program, choose the "Standard Mode" for your recovery. Then you can choose four recovery types as below.



Step 2: Choose a recovery type


1) For Lost File Recovery

Recover deleted and formatted files from a partition or removable media, such as files deleted by Shift+ Delete or emptied from Recycle Bin.



Select a specific folder or the disk where you lost your data, then click the “Start” button on the bottom to scan and recover both of them. Switch to Step5 above.

2) For Partition Recovery

Find out deleted, lost, damaged or
resized partition, and then lost files and folders.



Click on "Next" to search partitions after select a physical drive where you lost your files.



Choose the one you want to recover files from
after scanning the lost partitions, and hit on "Start". Go to step5 above.

3) For Raw File Recovery

If previous scans can not find your lost data files, please select Raw File Recvoery. But it will not display the file name and path.



Choose a partition that where the files you recover from, and click on "Start". Go to step5 above.
Here you can choose "For All Files" to scan your files which will take you more time, or choose "For Deleted Files" to quick scan.

4) For Resume Recovery

Import a saved scan results before to restart a previous recovery conversation.



Next, the program begins to scanning your lost data. Jump to step5 above
if the scanning have finished.
