Part 1: Recover Lost Data Directly from iOS Devices
- Connect your device (iPhone 5/4S/4(GSM & CDMA)/3GS, iPad 1 & iPod touch 4) to the computer and run Dr.Fone, then you’ll get the interface below.
- 1. Hold your device and click “Start” button in the interface of Dr.Fone.
- 2. Hold “Power” and “Home” buttons on your device at the same time for exact 10 seconds. The Software will count time for you.
- 3. When 10 seconds passed, release the “Power” button right away, but keep holding the “Home” button. After another 10 seconds, you’ll be informed that you’ve successfully entered the DFU mode and then you can release the “Home” button.
- 4. Then the software begins scanning your device automatically for lost data. When the scan finishes, all found data are displayed in categories, like camera roll, photo stream, photo library, contacts, messages, message attachments, call history, calendar, notes, reminders, voice memos and safari bookmark.
- 5. If you want to recover all of them, check all categories and click "Recover" to save them on your computer with one click.
- If you only want to recover deleted data, refine the scan result by sliding the button to only displaying the deleted items, as the interface above. Mark the deleted items and press "Recover" button to recover data from iPad, iPhone 5/4S/4/3GS, or iPod touch 4.
Part 2: Recover Previous Data from iTunes Backup
- This recovery mode can be used when you failed to directly recover data from your device, or you lost your device. As long as you have synced your lost data with iTunes before, it is possible to recover data from iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, new iPad, and all other iDevices.
- 1. When launching Dr.Fone, switch to “Recover from iTunes Backup File”. Here, all your iTunes backup files of your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch which has ever synced with iTunes on this computer will be automatically found and listed. Select the one of yours and click "Start Scan" to begin iTunes backup extracting.
- 2. After the scan, all your data backed up by iTunes can be found and displayed in categories. Preview them one by one before recovery.
- 3. Select those you want and recover them by pressing "Recover" button at the bottom.
- Note: If you want to recover lost data through this recovery mode, don't sync your device with iTunes after data loss; otherwise the iTunes backup file will be updated, and the old one cannot be recovered.
